Bridge International Asia Sdn Bhd (hereafter referred to as "Bridge"), a general marketing company based near Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, as a subsidiary of Bridge International Corporation (Head Office: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo; President: Yusho Yoshida), Bridge International Asia Sdn Bhd ("Bridge"), a comprehensive marketing company based near Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, will establish an e-Invoicing Working Group on April 17, 2024 to provide comprehensive support for Japanese companies operating in Malaysia to comply with the e-Invoicing e-Invoicing system.
 

In Malaysia, the electronic invoice system (e-Invoice) will be gradually introduced in August 2024, and all Malaysian companies are required to fully implement the system by July 1, 2025.

The e-Invoice is a digital proof of transaction between a seller and a buyer, and will replace the traditional paper or electronic invoices, credit notes, and debit notes. Each company needs to confirm the timing of its own implementation and establish a roadmap for e-Invoice e-invoicing, including the establishment of a system to support it.

The e-Invoicing Working Group will be managed by an accounting consulting firm, a system company, and a sponsor company with expertise in the field, and will continuously share information on e-Invoicing with the Malaysian Inland Revenue Board (IRB) and related organizations over a period of 12 months from April 2024 to March 2025. Based on the information to be released, information will be shared on an ongoing basis for Japanese companies in Malaysia to apply for e-Invoice.

 

Outline of the e-Invoicing Working Group

Objective	• Working group to share information in order to support Malaysia's e-Invoice, which will be gradually introduced from August 2024.  • Participating companies (Japanese companies) will be recruited from CONNECTION members, and participants will be able to interact with each other.
Operation Procedures	• Regular monthly meetings • Regular monthly meetings (12 in total) will be held in the form of online meetings • A recording of the event will be made available for those who were not present.
Operational period	From April 17, 2024 to March 31, 2025
Regular Meeting Schedule	The first regular meeting will be held on April 17, 2024 14:00-15:00 (Malaysia time)  Thereafter, the meeting will be held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 14:00 to 15:00 (Malaysian time)
